Well this is being developed by Sumo Digital who know how to make really fun racing games so I'll be inclined to go with this than Modnation by a long shot.

Considering the Mario Kart games (GC &Wii) are my favorite racers ( I really don't enjoy anything vaguely realistic), this is a definite purchase for me.

Not sure whether to get this on Wii or 360 though!

"Just call me Sonic". Why, 'cause that's your name asshole? It's alright, looks nice enough (though the framerate seems slightly off to me at times) and has good music which is lifted straight out of Sega All-star tennis. You can choose from Sonic and Banjo, although I didn't really notice any great difference between them, save for their special attacks. Biggest issue for me is the brake system. The controls are very simplistic and there's only one brake type, which likes to skid pretty mean around corners. Would have been nice to use a left trigger to slow down a little and have a button for hand brake as well. I imagine this will drop in price very quickly, at which point I may pick it up.

It didn't blow me away and as above the framerate could have been better. That kind of game really needs a solid 60fps. Felt better than Modnation Racers , I thought. Maybe at £20.

It's a bit ridiculous with what can be achieved in other games, yet in a game such as this they can't get a nice speedy framerate out of it. Sadly, only a few developers seem interested in honing their craft, others just get asked to churn out multi-console stuff like this.

i liked the demo, shame about the frame rate.

it controls like outrun but simplified so instead of braking or changing gears to start a slide you just hold the left trigger, and just like outrun you really don't need brakes :D

I played the demo last night and it was good fun, very Mario(esq) which is not a bad thing.

I won't be paying £30 for it. What's this about the frame rate people are talking about ?

Downloaed the demo the other day.
For a fun racing game on the Xbox its OK, but after a few go's we went back to Mario Kart.
If you dont have a Wii or Mario Kart I would say its worth a buy, but if you have Mario Kart already then at this price I would say theres not much point in getting it really.

I had a quick go on the Wii version earlier, obviously didn't look as good but seemed to run smoother than the 360 demo. Played the medium difficulty and best I came was 3rd so I might need a bit of practice. Still not sure whether to get it or just wait for a bargain price.

It's deffo smoother than the demo, in fact I think all frame rate probs are gone. However it looks like they solved this by disabling v-sync.

Have been enjoying this so far and the frame rate looks as if it has pretty much been sorted out, it's certainly not noticeable to my eyes.

It's a lot more fun than I was expecting. My lil fella had a blast on 2 player split screen with me as well. Only negative would be that some tracks have so much stuff going on in them that certain corners it can be tricky seeing in advance which direction you're meant to be turning. Not a problem really once you have done a lap or 2 though..

Oh yeah, and nice seeing Ryo back in a game again!

My PS3 copy turned up today. Really like this, it's a great alternative to Mario Kart. Nice simple controls and the tracks are fun.

Online has been good, had a few games and no lag and lots of lobbies to choose from. No online rankings or leaderboards. But probably a good thing, will encourage people just to race for the fun of it.

I've got to admit that having never played a Mario Kart game before getting Mario Kart Wii I was a bit disappointed with it. I was expecting a bit more, considering the way people talk about the Mario Kart series. I just find it a bit too random and really lacking in features. I'm happy or extremely happy with most of the other Wii games I purchased but think I would have had more fun with All Star Racing instead.

I had fun with it for a week (was a rental) and getting all the online achievements with a mate.

can't say i miss it when it went back. the missions are interesting enough though, make the gameplay last longer.

Crikey, the load times are a bit of a drag on the PS3 version. Still enjoying it though even if it is a little sub-Mario Kart Wii.
