got the job of finding a budget camera for my neice
looking at the fuji a170 etc which is a good price
and has enough features for the price
just wondered how well the panorama mode works
combines 3 frames together in camera ?
anybody actually used this mode in practise

thanks

I don't think my F31 has one so I do it the old fashioned way and that works fine too
I used it on my old Canon and it worked quiet well as the frame on the lcd was split and you could line up your next shot with the one you just took.

If it's the same as on Canons, it locks the settings between one shot and the next (so that they're not massively lighter/darker), and shows you the edge of the last shot so you can line up the next.

You use some software when you get home (usually some bundled, but others are available) to "stitch" those shots together into one larger image.

Create your own Panoramas

With the FinePix A170's Panoramic shooting mode you can now do justice to all those sweeping landscapes on your next holiday. All you have to do is take three consecutive shots of a scene and this clever technology seamlessly stitches them together to create one superb panoramic image.

Very misleading/ambiguous isn't it - really makes it sound like it's done in camera.
