Bought a Wii last year but now have it linked to the internet.:thumbs: I've regestered online with Nintendo Club and have 2000 points waiting to be used. However when I go in to the shopping Channel I can't see any of these points waiting to be used. What am I doing wrong?

Also is there a list of downloadable stuff online or do you just have to search through the shopping channel?

I can't fully remember as I did it ages ago but don't you have the sync your wii to the nintendo club site?

on the downloadable stuff; I've never seen a list (not to say there isn't one), I just scroll through the channel.

I linked my email address and password on the Wii but it still reads 0 points, yet on line there are 2000 points eagerly waiting to be used.:lol:

you have to sync the wii shopping channel to your wii. i remember it being a right faff to buy wii points online (converting my stars). but the instructions are all on the wii site.

Isnt that hard

you need to go to the shopping channel and setup your email with your wii
(is in a menu at bottom middle right, but name escapes me - something like setup or options in the shopping channel and then you setup up your Club nintendo)

Then once thats done you just follow the link from the Club nintendo site to the Trade stars for points - is a link on the right hand side.
This is another site that you register with / enter your same email.
Then it lets you select stars to trade -

400 = 100
1200 = 300
2000 = 500
4000 = 1000

You can only do it once a day and they run out of stock quite often

This then generates a number which you then enter into the shop (via the Wii) where it says REDEEM CODES.

Glad I read this thread as I forgot they expired the stars (lost 1600 last summer). Just cashed out 1200 of them for some Wii Points that I'll never use (but I'm hoping they don't have the cheek to expire those!).

Just realised that I have 2000 stars and not points, which would expalin why I couldn't see any points on the Wii shopping Channel.:nuts:

I know you can buy points but is there any other way to get stars or points?

They used to award stars for completing surveys and you also got a very small number if you signed into your account regularly. No idea if they still do either of those though.

some new games come with a scratch card thingy that will give you some stars

I didn't know about the stars coversion, but I do know that buying Wii points directly from Nintendo seemed the cheapest when compared to buying elsewhere. It's £7 for 1000 points, and that works out cheaper than current internet prices if you did want to purchase some Wii points for Virtua Console games or their WiiWare games.

I bought myself a Wii console for Christmas and ended up with 2000 "stars" which I've converted into Wii Points, as above, there are scratchcards with selected software and hardware (i.e. I got 1000 in the console itself, 200 with the Wii Fit Plus, 200 with Wii Sports, 200 with Wii Sports Resort and so on...)

The Virtual Console downloads are great but very expensive for what they are...still treated myself to some of the old Mario and Sonic titles.
