Bought a shiny new Panasonic G10 last weekend (loving it).
Currently running my 360 via component at 1080i.
I have the 360 premium console with HDMI connector but I have no HDMI cables at the moment (blu-ray coming soon!)
Is it worth buying an HDMI lead to output my Xbox at 1080p?

I find tearing on some games in 1080p and 1080i looks as good on my display so stuck with that.

I find the best connection option is VGA a lot of the time. You get less input lag and its easier to get a 1:1 pixel map with the 360. Depends on your flatscreen set but most sets have less input lag on VGA compared to hdmi.
Yes. HDMI cables are fairly cheap anyway, it's definitely worth it. On our Xbox 360 we connect with HDMI @ 1080p and with the Reference Levels set to Expanded on the Xbox settings (makes the colours/blacks richer). Makes a visible difference (to us) even on the menu system.

I didnt think there used to be a lot in the difference between component and hdmi leads. But since the update wot hthe reference levels, hdmi looks far sharped on my samsung 40" lcd. Also tried VGA but it wasn't as good...

My Panasonic S10 (same 1080p panel as the G10) only seems to accept 1366x768 over VGA. My xbox is from pre HDMI days, so that's the best option. I'd say go with the HDMI if you have it,
On the expanded levels. That was originally included for the VGA and washed out video from an incorrectly calibrated black point on some displays. I've found that if you play games only, then calibrating to expanded is fine. but if you watch Sky Player or Windows Media Centre, the black point is wrong for video (black is grey) so you have to cut off the games dark details to get video right. So I set it to intermediate to get a balance between the two.
