I caught the last minute or so and my ears pricked up thinking "who on earth is this". Fortunately the texts praised it so much he played it twice in a row

Believe me I havent got excited by their stuff in a long time (loved Blue lines & Protection but not much since then) but this was gorgeous

Album features Guy Garvey (which is worthy of excitement in itself) plues Damon Albarn & Martina Topley Bird. Think he said it was out in Feb. Sounds promising

Mary Anne Hobbs was playing a new track of theirs (featuring Hope Sandoval) at approx 3:30am this morning. Sounded pretty good. The things you hear when you're an occasional insomniac...

Just in case no-one can be bothered to dig around iplayer, here's the link - it should take you straight to the new track:

I don't think it will have the longevity of some of their earlier tracks but I like it a lot, enough to get a bit more excited about a new album.

Yeah, that's the one I heard this morning. Really like it on second listen. Proof they're still relevant.

Really like Massive Attack and missed it on the radio. The link to Zane Lows show doesnt seem to work anymore so had to go hunting on YouTube

New albums another dud i'm affraid.
3 or 4 good tracks (including the single) the rest of it's a bit of a chore.

I'll wait for a reliable 'promo' but it doesn't surprise me. They seem to be able to manage moments of brilliance but not sustain them, as they did in their earlier work.

thats a shame - had hoped this was a return to form (ie Protection / Blue Lines) esp bearing in mind the collaborations.

This is definitely a grower.

Album is pretty poor...will keep with it, but it's just not grabbing me!

I didn't like it at all on first couple of listens, but I'm around listen 6/7 now. It gets better and is still growing on me.

Have to say I'm liking it quite a bit on first listen. Nice mix of vocals and lovely and menacing as you would expect.

Looking forward to the sexy 3 disc vinyl set coming at the end of the month.
