View Full Version : Pulp Fiction R2 DANISH
Anyone know if its uncut , and is it a flipper?:)
Pulp Fiction (R2-DK) is a dual layered single disc with anamorphic widescreen and DD 5.1. I don't think any cuts have been made int this Danish release, but I couldn't tell for sure. But please notice, that the subtitles (Only Scandinavian subtitles are available) on this release are forced! You cannot watch the movie without one of theese subtitles!!!
My advice is, that you wait for the R1-SE edition, which should come out some time this year.

... or buy the R4, which is going into a Village 2 for $50 offer next month (along with Seven SE and a heap of other good titles).

Alternatively -
Like Taxi (although uncut/unrated this time) the Korean DVD is actually better than any other existing version -
Studio: Spectrum
Rating: Unrated
No. of Discs: 2
Audio Format: English Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround
Video Format: Anamorphic Widescreen 2.35:1 (Enhanced for 16:9 TVs)
Subtitles: English, Korean
Region Code: ALL
Special Features:
* Cast & Crew Info
* Deleted Scenes Introduced by Tarantino
* 5 Trailers from Different Countries
* 5 Tracks from the Sound Track (Misirlou, Jungle Boogie, You Never Can Tell, Girl Your'll Be a Woman, Soon)
Why is this better than the R4 you ask, 2 reasons -
1. It is a Spectrum release and there DVD's generally are of high value.
2. ALL the extras are on Disc 2, so the bitrate should be much higher.

According to reports the R4 doesn't have a great picture so fingers crossed for this one!

The Korean version costs almost double the price of the R4 will shortly if you buy from DVDAsian, and loses the featurette and cast and crew interviews (although this is no big loss). The video quality would have to be markedly superior to justify such a price differential, especially with an R1 SE rumored to be coming later this year (ie you don't want to sink too much into any of the existing releases which makes the R4 ideal).
Just my 4 Australian cents. ;)

When viewing prices in US Dollars the Korean is almost twice the price but in UK Pounds (I'm not sure where you are from). It is only £5 more -
Korean = US $21.95 - UK £15.50
Australia = AUD $ 26.91 - UK £9.82
So I guess it depends on what currency you work in. Yes the Korean DVD looses the interviews/featurette but it does get instead - 5 Trailers from Different Countries and 5 Tracks from the Sound Track (which we all know are soo cool).
Now you put it this way, I would probably go for the R4. Having said that I'm waiting for the SE.

Don't forget $US6 postage for DVDAsian for international orders($US 27.90 = 19.75 quid)
Hence, the Korean version will cost double the R4 version, at least from DVDAsian.
