Hello - newby looking for some advice / help

I have today had the virgin media V+ service installed, everything set up fine and can get picture and sound through scart.

When they did the test to set up the HD on my Sony Aquos TV he changed all the settings oin the box to allow for Hi DEF 1080i - press ok and switched to the HD AV channel - and all we got was sound and no picture.

Reverted back to Scart for now but desperate to get this resolved.

Had the tv hooked up on my xbox for months on the HD channel (via smae HDMI cable) and it has worked fine.

Any ideas? thanks in advance

I've got a similar problem. Had my V+ connected to my TV via HDMI for a year with no issues what-so-ever. Then one day, I get a picture but no sound.

I made sure it wasn't the TV by pluging my Blu-Ray player in what was the V+ HDMI socket - no problem.

Switched the V+ over to Scart - again no problem. Then when I went back to HDMI on the V+ I had no sound or picture! Still get the TV guide though.

I googled this and found that loads of people have had the same problem, or a very similar one.

Trouble is, if you ring up Virgin they will probably claim it is your TV's fault, hopefully it wouldn't be too hard to prove them wrong.

The only solution is probably a new V+ box, I'm reluctant to do this, as I will lose a lot of recordings, so am currently watching via Scart until I can face getting a new box. :(
