Hi Mark,
Sorry mate but the 2 I/O ports you are talking of are not RGB:(
The input on your PJ is the VGA input and the one on the back of the ITV Digital box is the RS232 com port.
The best way to output from the digi box to your PJ is by using a RGB/SCART to S-Video convertor.
You will also need to set up your Digi box to output RGB, this is in the set up options menu..
Drop me line if you need any help :D

Both Lektropacks and rgbtosvideo.com (not suprisingly) sell RGB to S-Video convertors, the Lektropacks one is an "image stabiliser" (Macrovision disabler:rolleyes:) as well, but is £50 the rgbtosvideo one is £80, don't know which is better, anyone used either? Any good or bad comments?
Also, I see Lektropacks also sell RGB to VGA convertors wonder if this might give a better picture, anyone tried this?
pretty sure rgbtosvideo sell 2 devices, one pal only at £60(?), the other pal/ntsc for approx £80.
I would trust them more than lektropacks, especially since they were the first to make the product afaik.
