Hi - I've been having some problems lately with my Mission subwoofer. Sometimes when I put on a DVD, it doesn't seem to start up the subwoofer properly unless I turn it off, and on again.
Has anyone else had this problem?

So it is staying in standby mode ? How long do you leave it on without using it ?
If there is something wrong then I'm guessing that it'll be the crossover within the subwoofer. Afterall, it is the sub which determines where the inbound sound source is going to be sent via the infoit received from the umbilical cord.
I too have the FS2 sub (with the FS2 AV pack) and have only noticed the sub going into standby mode (orange light) when inactive for a long while ie with a disc on pause or the receiver muted for some reason.
I take it you've got the sub attached by the receivers LFE input as well ?

I tend to leave the Sub on standby all the time - it's too difficult to get behind my TV - take off the cover and turn it off (note to mission - make the controls more accessible next time...). Could this be the source of the problem?
The LFE input is attached. I seem to have more problems with DTS than dolby strangely.

I agree, the controls are a pain, which is why mine always has the cover off !
I tend to switch it off when I leave the house, or when I'm not using the receiver. I have no idea whether the standby doesn't come out of operation if you leave it on all the time..... maybe Mission could comment ?
I've certainly not noticed the problem that you suggest - on DD, PLII or DTS - but I think the most likely cause is the standby failing to be disengaged when it has been left on for a very long time......
Give Mission a call.

Probably wouldn't solve your problem, but have you considered plugging the sub into the receiver. Most receivers tend to have a 2 point plug on them for this (I believe there is one supplied with the Mission for this). The Sub would only come on when the amp is then.
Or have I misunderstood the question (i'm sleepy).
