View Full Version : R2 Dr Strangelove SE - split screen interviews - questions?

Just received my R2 (UK) Collector's Edition of Dr Strangelove. The print seems a litle disappointingly dirty, but anyway...

In the split-screen interview segments with George C Scott and Peter Sellers (also found on the R1 disc), are we supposed to get a text or audio representation of the questions? If so, someone's messed up on the authoring of the R2...we get their answers, with suitable gaps for the questions.

It seems a shame that the questions could not have been included also (even if most of them are easily deduced).

It's explained in the text intro to the interviews that the questions they answered were suitably generic so that "interviewers" could frame their own questions around the responses given. I suppose they could have included the originals that Scott and Sellers had worked from but I think the omission is deliberate

This is standard practice in film publicity and remains so to this day - it enables actors to appear to be giving far more interviews to far more TV channels than they actually have time to do!

Well of course, it's just that in the cases I've come across the press kit has included a question list to aid the deception. :)

Thanks too carryonline, I should have read the opening text more carefully...d'oh...
