I'm looking to add video content to my websites and set up a youtube channel.

The sort of stuff I'd be looking to make are short pieces:
1. book trailers
2. excerpts from my public events
3. readings
4. quiz questions

I've pretty much worked out that I need:

Camcorder
Accessories - Tripod, lights, microphones, possibly green screen set up
Editing - Software, possibly a more powerful computer

What I'm not sure is what level to spend at. At the top I could go for a semi-pro camcorder, video editing PC, top level software lights etc and blow up to £10k.

Or, at the other extreme a top line amateur camcorder, some mics & lights and using something like Premiere Elements to edit on my exisiting PC. This would cost a minimum 2.5k.

Just wondered if anyone had any thoughts or experience of this sort of thing?

And/or reccomendations of good places where you can look at your equipment options and get some advice?
