yea.
There are 2 US versions i think; separate full frame and widescreen versions.

the region 2 is 2 disc and full frame and widescreen included on same edition.

as for pre-order its all pretty much the same, i usually use play.com

Don't forget the R1 version will be titled 'Harry Potter & the Sorcerer's stone' and that all the scenes that mention the philosopher's stone were reshot with the sorcerer's stone instead.:brickwall

well despite LOTR production being astounding, i just thought Potter was one of the most charming films i have ever seen.

unfair to compare these films anyway.

Does anyone know if the American R1 versions are RCE?

It's just that my dvd cannot play RCE discs and I pre-ordered the REGION 1 version from PLAY.COM who do not say it is RCE.

But confusingly DVDCONCEPT.COM do say it is RCE?????

Thanks

Looks like the Canadian version will be the one to go for I just read this on The DVD Journal (http://www.dvdjournal.com/)

"As many Harry Potter fans may know, the actual title of J.K. Rowling's first book is Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone but was changed by the American publisher to Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. Fortunately the Canadian publisher gave kids a little more credit and released the tome with Rowling's title. This means that the film in Canada kept the original title, and therefore there will be a Canadian Region 1 version with Philosopher's Stone on the cover. Many American collectors may want it as a unique item, but there are probably some Harry Potter purists and fans out there who would prefer to have the original. They have a choice."
