I did a search but got no results which surprised me a bit...

I'm catching up on series 3, up to episode five now, where the least English people on the planet visit the offices...

To be honest, I'm a bit underwhelmed, it a bit like a 1960's version of Rescue Me, in that Don can enter any situation, social gathering or simply be in a public place and some smoking hot woman randomly and overtly comes on to him for no apparent reason.

Either that, or he has an incredible fortunate meeting which leads to someone complimenting him on how much a genius he is, based on a monosyllabic one-sided conversation. Or there's a ridiculous contrivance, like the English bloke getting his foot chopped off, to clear the way for Don to run the whole company or some other random ******** that would absolutely not happen in real life.

It's just a bit bizarre. What has disappointed me most so far is that series three isnt much different to series one or two, it's almost like a reset. The show is far more interesting when Don isn't the focus, and that seems to be happening a little bit more this series, but needs a lot more effort.

In addition to all those flaws, the dialogue is incredibly stilted and oblique. Now based on the caricature of English people in episode five, I'm also assuming that americans really don't talk the way they do in MM?

Do they really never acknowledge a compliment, or say goodbye at the end of a phone call (that being the case how would they ever know the conversation has ended?), do they always willfully ignore people saying hello? Or stand in silence after someone speaks? Put simply, are americans really ignorant, inarticulate pricks?
