Got probably a stupid question, but here goes :doh:

Getting a new amp, maybe the Sony STR-DA2400ES

Intending to connect as much as possible by HDMI, up to my Panasonic Projector, around 6m away

Now I can connect;

Sony 360
PS3
DVD Player

by 3 HDMI leads to the amp and then 1 HDMI lead to the Panasonic PJ

My question is, if I connect the XBOX360 by component to the amp, is there any way that signal can be sent to the PJ via the HDMI lead or will I need to run a component lead from the amp to the PJ

Thanks

I dont think you can connect a hdmi lead and component to the xbox at the same time can you?

Maybe not explained myself very well - will try again

The 3 items;

PS3
Blu Ray
DVD Player

will all be connected via 3 x HDMI leads to the amp and then 1 HDMI lead to the PJ

The XBOX360 will be connected to the amp via Component (older 360 model)

What I wanted to know is will the signal for the XBOX360, connected to the amp via component also go to the PJ via the same lead as the 3 items above

Or, do I need to run another component lead from the back of the Amp (where the XBOX360 will be connected to), direct to the PJ?

i.e.,

PS3/Sony360/DVD Player - to amp via 3 HDMI leads - one HDMI lead OUT to PJ

XBOX360 to amp via component - how can I get this to the PJ - do I need another component lead from the amp to the PJ, or would the OUT signal run via the HDMI out lead above?

You should be able to do this with the 2400 as it will upconvert component to hdmi so it will work the way you want. I do this with my onkyo where i connect my wii by component and output by hdmi to my tv.

You need to remember to use optical cable as well form your 360 so you can can get 5.1 audio as well. Then its just a case of assigning the component and optical inputs to a source on the amp.

So just connect all your other kit by hdmi and your 360 using component and optical then run 1 hdmi to your tv.

Have actually just bought the Onkyo 607 (instead of the Sony)

So should I be able to plug the Component 360 leads in to the Onkyo (along with PS3, BLURAY, etc) and output all via one HDMI lead to the Projector?

If so, that would be great and saves me a long component lead :thumbs:

Yep, the 607 has upscaling, so that should work fine.

yes the 607 will upconvert component to hdmi so you wont need the component cable for the projector:thumbs:
