Just want to check that the tv and blu-ray player my dad has picked for himself is up to snuff?
This Samsung bundle at play.com (http://www.thedvdforums.com/affiliatelink.php?localaffiliateid=2&url=http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electronics/4-/8986549/-/Product.html?sp=1&dpr=383371), LE46B650 TV and BD-P1600 blu-ray player.
From what I've read on here (someone asked about same model tv but at 40") and elsewhere there seems to be a thumbs up opinion. Same with the blu-ray player but just want to be sure as don't want to be sorting out any problems for the old man if I can help it! ;)
Cheers all.

Not sure about the TV, but most Samsungs are supposed to be good, and the BD-P1600 (http://www.homecinemabuyer.co.uk/blu-ray-players/review-of-the-samsung-bd-p1600/) is a decent Blu-ray player by all accounts - it has some nice networking features too.

Just bought a LE40B650 that came with a free DBP1600 for less than £700 all in. Both are good and the BDWise feature should make setting them up a breeze.

My only gripe so far is that I don't have a receiver that can do audio delay, so I can't use it when watching DVDs and Blu-ray (the TV image is about 120ms behind the audio going to the amp).

The settings on this page (http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/Samsung-LE40B650/Settings.htm) are a good starting point.

That's appalling!! You can buy seperate audio delay boxes I believe.

Where did you get this tips4tnt - online or a local retailer?? It was from beyondtelevision.co.uk. Their customer service isn't that good, but the delivery turned up on time.
