If u guys can save your dough, I would seriously recommend a projector. I don't have one, but tried it at work. In a nice small room, I got an image which was 80" wide!!! My jaw dropped at the film-like quality!!!
I connected thru a DVD-ROM.

Prices are coming down, I'm sure you can pick up something decent for 2000-2500.

I'd quite like one I must admit but my room is only 10' long!!!!!!

I guess you really need something twice as big for it to work properly?

Assuming your room is 10 feet not 10 inches (I never did figure out ' versus '' ), the projectors will probably be fine. Some of them can throw an 8 foot wide picture in only 5/6 feet.

I'd love a projector one day...... sniff. Can't get it past the missus though.

10 ft room is okay, I got the new Panasonic PTAE 100 last weekend and I get an image 6'6" by 3'8" in an 11ft room, a bargain for 1430 quid. Till it broke:(

Yikes! What happened? I'm looking at one of these with longing but if the reason it's so relatively inexpensive is because it's made of string then i'll keep saving.

Ive had the new panasonic PT AE100 for 3 weeks now and its the nees knees. My picture is 8 feet wide and the picture quality is very good, it will be even better once I get my component out and progressive scan DVD player as at the moment its fedding off an s video lead from my Tosh SD100E.

Im well happy with mine though.

Component input on the projector is very nice, luckily my DVD player had component output anyway, but must admit I may upgrade to a progressive scan player (probably a Denon) quite soon.

As for the projector, I just tried to turn it on one evening and it started flashing the "Lamp" warning light at me, so could be a blown bulb or something else, trying to get it sorted with Panasonic at the moment. Annoying though as I just got it set up properly.
