Yay! It's back :D :D
Probably the most useful site on the internet for a TV whore :p
What is it a TV listings site?
Yeah basically, you can customise to list all the shows you watch or are interested in and it let's you know when they are on etc
Very very handy let me tell you!!

Click 'Search Shows' and add any into your profile. You then mark as 'acquired'.. or 'watched'.
Essential site as others have said.
Then go to this (http://www.myepisodes.com/cal.php) page.

So is it a database to keep a record of what episodes you have watched or that alerts you when episodes are on?

Yes, both. You tick a box when you record an episode, and tick another when you've watched it -- it's especially helpful when you periodically catch up with an old show on DVD and can't remember where you've got to.
For alerting, there are RSS feeds (http://www.myepisodes.com/rsshelp.php) such as "all episodes airing today" or "all episodes which aired yesterday".

Cool, thanks. I like the alert aspect so will have a play.

From the forum over there:
Hello everyone.
I’m sorry to tell you all that we got hit again.
I was phoned by the hosting firm Friday at 18 o'clock, that the server was uploading ~100mbit (Normal use is around 1-2mbit).
Unfortunately I was working on something urgent in the other end of the county and couldn't find time right away to look at the problem. So I told them to unplug the server and then I would go to the hosting center the next morning and look at the problem.
Anyway, I took the flight home and was home around 01 o'clock Saturday and went to bed - knowing the server was offline.
Next morning I got up and went to the bathroom to get ready, my GF was taking a bath and suddenly I felt very bad. I asked my GF to go get a cold wet cloth, but before she could return I had passed out on the floor hitting my head directly into the tile floor. When I wasn’t responding she went into panic and quickly phoned the emergency services (which are like my next door neighbor), so they were on the spot very fast and tried to get me to talk and stuff, and made a lot of tests on site. They also tried to test my pupils but couldn't really get a good look so they made me sit up and then I passed out again. Then they brought me to the hospital where I got a whole battery of tests.
They couldn't find anything wrong with my brain or heart so they think I’m fine and dandy. But I did get a concussion from the head hitting the floor, so the doctor ordered me to stay in bed and no driving for a few days.
That meant that I couldn’t get to the hosting center and still haven’t been there.
Thankfully I used to work at the hosting center, so I got an old colleague and friend to help me fix up the server today and get it online again.
I am very sorry for any inconvenience it may have caused anyone.
The site was hacked through a phpMyAdmin vulnerability, that has been fixed and now I hope we have removed all holes in the server – I’m tired of this mouse and cat game

i am actually surprised it's publicly hosted, from the amount of downtime they get i was sure it was just a pc in someone's house! I do love the site though, makes keeping track of the multitude of programs i'm watching much more simple!
Down here as well. Maybe the servers have been slowed in ;)
Same for me too...miss it as loads of new episodes have started airing again...
Seeing how popular it is here I trust we've all donated to this great site? :D
(I haven't either but think I will when it's back up  )

Decided to start using this, and don't seem to be getting on too well with the "Unaquired" thing on the RSS feed. Do they only update your feeds periodically? What I want is for it to show recent shows that I watch in an RSS feed. Then when I tick acquired for a particular episode, this episode does not show up when I refresh the RSS feed. Unfortunately, these continue to show in BeyondPod (google Android app) and Google Reader. Does anyone know if there's a reason for this, or is it some sort of caching at the google end?
Thanks,
James

I dont use the RSS feed, but the 'my shows' view updates ok on the main site for me http://www.myepisodes.com/myshows.php

I think that RSS feeds are sort of additive, in that a client will keep existing items and add new ones when they come in, but not bother removing old ones if they're no longer in the feed. That's because an RSS feed will only contain recent news, so your client is expected to keep hold of older news in case you don't read the list until after the older bits have disappeared from the feed.
In other words, I think it's expected.
Thanks.
That's what I've discovered, but it kind of takes away the point of the "show only unacquired" tab a little bit.
Anyway, I've found a way of adding the relevant feed to my google calendar, and what's better, this method WILL remove old episodes once I've set them to acquired. Which is ace.
And it syncs with my phone, so I get reminders each morning of the shows on that day. :)

It's back!
I've been trying to find an alternative to pogdesign which can be a bit flakey with the filter (very flakey) and they refuse to add programmes they themselves don't like. Not very helpful. I created a google calendar which anyone with a google account can use. Just go to google calendar, log in, and add calendar by url. Paste this (http://www.tvrage.com/myical.php?tid=57509&hash=420d7d4941d4978cec9e25e3513a6c76). It'll come up in the sidebar near the bottom. Unfortunately you can't merge it with "your" calendar but I suggest you click the episodes you intend to watch and click copy and then save. This way you can have a personalised list of what's on and you can delete when you've watched them.
The feed is one I created in TVrage, took me ages and I've probably made a mistake or two. If I've left something out let me know. I'm only including US primetime shows, no talk shows since they're usually on every night and you don't really need reminding of them.
Here's a preview, you don't even need to go to Google calendars you could just keep coming to this post to read it, although it's read only obviously. Have a look in Agenda mode, I think that's easier to read
