That's just what I was thinking too......

EDIT

From another site, someone says it looks like an Amcor Nanomax K series model.

its a standard model that has various guises. the most its ever been worth is £200. i paid £180 last year from argos. it's not a bad unit for smallish rooms. keeps the bedroom nice and cool and just as important removes excess moisture on those clammy night. £79 is a steal.

Sooo tempted!! Is the unit noisey and what's power consumption like?

Went and had a look This afternoon.

Unit is rather small, which is good. However it's creaky plastic coating - they type thats liable to crack if hit.
Worse, it's white plastic thats been sprayed with a very thin silver covering. VERY prone to scratching. Why does it make me think that they overpriced this, and then dumped the price on purpose... ;)

To he honest, there was a different model that was there reduced from £299 to £100, same output, but much more sturdy.

I wanted another aircon - however the misses wouldnt have let it in the house!!
And she's preggers so needs the cooling in the bedroom (the lounge we have a decent proper 9k BTU on the wall!)...

Good for if cooling is the #1 priority, and you can hide the thing away then it's great. however if it has to look anything better than "crap" then i seriously wouldnt bother!
