Itunes deleting all my music on Iphone

I've just manually added a few hundred songs complete and looked for the artwork individually etc. I wanted to add some ringtones, and so I pressed 'sync ringtones'.

However it's now wiped all my songs! Is there any way of getting them back? I took a long time to find the artwork for those songs!!!! Thanks

Itunes should still have the artwork & it'll send it automatically,

Unless your saying Itunes lost it?

Alas all the artwork editing was done on the iphone version of the song, not stored on the PC.

Why does it not warn you that the data will be lost, when pressing sync. It's not intuitive at all.

You need to make sure you have the playlist in itunes ticked to sync or it will remove it all, it does tell you this when you tick/untick it.

Its a good piece of software, it's just the way it works with ipod/phones thats crap

You can't manually add music and then sync podcasts/ringtones/whatever, must sync first if I remember rightly...
