Ok,
I am in desperate need of a new digital SLR, but quite frankly I don't have the cash to shell out for one all in one go.
Can anyone suggest somewhere that I can possibly buy one and pay for it over about 12 months or so?
If anyone is able to it would really help me out.
Thanks in advance.

Bad idea IMO, unless its going to pay for itself.
Whats your current SLR and why do you need a new one?

Comet (http://www.thedvdforums.com/affiliatelink.php?localaffiliateid=37), Currys (http://www.thedvdforums.com/affiliatelink.php?localaffiliateid=5) and I think PC World (http://www.thedvdforums.com/affiliatelink.php?localaffiliateid=7) all offer such a service, I believe. Rob is right though - credit is evil.

My 400d broke last month after a 100ft fall. I don't really enter competitions, I just do it for me to be honest.

If they stock a model you are interested in Argos offer at least 6 months interest free, so if you're disciplined and put the money away every month - and remember to pay off the full amount before the interest free period is over - it's a good option. I paid off my Nikon just last week after 9 months of interest-free.
Same here - got a 12 month interest free credit card just to buy my D80, paid the correct amount each month and then cancelled it immediately. As Douglasb says, as long as you are disciplined it should be fine.
Calumet do buy now, pay in 6 months or you can look at www.photolease.co.uk

Warehouseexpress (http://www.thedvdforums.com/affiliatelink.php?localaffiliateid=384) also do the 6month deferred payment option

Yes - but make sure you pay on time as it's nearly 30% APR interest if you don't! :gag:
