Regions????????

Hi

Probably posted this in the wrong forum so Mods feel free to move elsewhere

I have just been chatting to a friend from USA who wants to send me a DVD, something I will love to watch aparently...

However they said it says Region 1 on it.. Both of us know nothing about DVD's what we need to know if I can play it when it arrives..DOH

I have a DVD drive on the PC...and a DVD player

DVD player is either an LG DVD 4710
or
LG DVD 4210


Anyone help?

There is a handset hack (for both these models) listed over at the unofficial http://www.lgdvd.co.uk/ site. Pressing the appropriate sequence of buttons should allow your player to play Region 1 discs.
