Couldn't find any other threads. Wonder what people think of the latest Madness album? apart from poss 2 fillers its superb... best album since the rise and fall IMO and one of the best they have done.

I think it works really well as a loose concept album. Some of it is a bit hamfisted and there's no singles of the quality of their heyday but you can't have everything. Suggs recently explained that there's a difficult balancing act in keeping the band going as some want more success whilst others would rather just be down the pub.

I've been playing this quite a bit lately.

They were always a great singles band in the past - no real obvious standout singles this time but perhaps their most consistent album to date.

Got this for my birthday and I've got to say I love it.
The 10 minute closing track is particularly impressive. Would have liked them to have made a full album in the 'opera' style of this track.
