Hi i am new to the forum and was just wondering if anyone could help me?

Here's my story.....

I had bought one of these players from Ebuyer. it was all good to start off, watched afew films with the missus and my daugther watched her films in the mornings from a usb key [as this is easier than wasting money burning and buying disks].

I had had the player about a week, when my 2 year old daugther spilled her drink on the remote:eek:.

Because all of the functions like switching to usb fast forwards etc.. are on the remote i cant really use it now.

I just have a few questions:

1) Is there anyway that i can switch to usb using the front panel of the player.

2) Anybody got any idea if i can buy a replacement or contact sumvision?

3) if anybody has a remote they might like to sell me from a faulty player could they please contact me. [not sure how, i was told not to post my email address on a forum. Suggestions?]

Thanks
Eddie

Hi, welcome to the forums. Have you thought of something like a universal remote. The Logitech Harmony's have the Sumvision Pheonix Premium in its database so it might have the button to switch to USB. However, I have a Panasonic blu ray player and the button to switch to a different drive (USB) wasn't there and I had to teach it from the original remote. If not, it might be worth contacting one of the resellers like SVP or Bigpockets to see if they might have a spare they can sell you.

Hi, firstly thanks for the reply.

I have just contacted both companys and asked if they have any spare remotes that they wish to sell.

As far as the logitech harmonys concerned. it wouldn't be cost effective as it costs alot more than the actual player itself. i wonder if any of the cheaper brands have a learning function:suspect:
