Brand New DVD freezing

I have trying to watch my new Season 3 Battlestar DVD's and our player is giving me some trouble. I am watching disc one and it is freezing in places. I take it out, it looks clean and I ran a DVD cleaner in our player, and it still is freezing up. It works fine when watched on computer. Other DVDs have given us no trouble up to this point. Is it the discs or the player?

Tricky one.

I wouldn't have thought compatibility issues (between disc and player), are still present this far into DVDs lifespan but you never know.

I watched my brand new "Peep Show" series 5 DVD a few weeks back and it stuttered and froze for about 3 seconds then carried on. I skipped back to the scene and it was OK. Skipped back again, still OK. I then watched the entire episode with my Mrs a few nights later with no problem.

Weird!

How long have you had your player?
