Not stupid at all, if you've never used them before.

Add the title to your basket, and to the right you will see your basket contents, along with the price.

Below that is a box for the Discount Code. Enter the code, and click the arrow to the right of it to apply the code.

That will take you to your basket. You will see the discount applied to your order, then you can checkout as normal.
