View Full Version : Di Matteo - New WBA boss?
Looks like it.

An interesting choice as he has done quite well at Milton Keynes. I like the fact that they have gone for a manager from the lower leagues rather than some over paid and hyped foreigner.
Shades of Ossie Ardilles with that appointment.

Paul Ince wanted the job. Looks like he was over-looked.

You are joking, they'd have burned the ground down rather than have that dingle there - yeah but Venus was different.
Aidy Boothroyd was touted repeatedly, it got to a stage where a petition was started and folks were ready to hand their season tickets back.

On Sky Sports news he indicated his interest. But Di Matteo I think would be a very good apppointment.ppp

He could have shown his arse in Burtons windows, he's still a dingle.

Albion say (well the local rag say, as they have no quote) that Di Matteo was the favourite all along.
Preston say, Alan Irvine approached, but turned them down (and Di Matteo was only came about last night).
Someone's telling porkies!
See you made me say their proper name and like flies they come swarming round.;)
As long as its not Boothroyd the consensus seems quite good.
We'll see.

What proper name? The one that West Brom oh so imaginatively pinched off Blackburn and Bolton? I don't think I actually said who was telling porkies (West Brom or Preston), but the fact that it came from the E&S and Birmingham Evening Mail (joint greatest science fiction novels of all time) does leave me with doubts. ;)
Having said that, it's potentially not a bad appointment. The big question mark is the mystery of how he failed to get MK Dons promoted.
I think Irvine would get a more Megson-like workman performance out of them. But at least if Di Matteo fails, you'll get the pretty football that you enjoyed under Mowbray.
:)Yep your right just got to see whats occuring.
Its occured, now official:

Good grief - does Di Matteo play a tetrahedron formation in midfield too?
Well his appointment seems to be stirring more interest up from the press (both here and internationally) than when TM was brought in. :p
Hopefully he'll also have a few contacts to allow us to get some decent players in on loan or with a view to signing.

I was holding out for Glenn Hoddle or Kevin Keegan. They're both under the delusion that they play some kind of brilliant football. Would have fit right in ;)
