Hi,

My partner just got a new phone as her contract was up.

So we have a Nokia N95 8Gb, its about 16 months old and I checked those recycle websites and one said up to £140 and others were about £100-120 ish.

I asked in at a couple of those phone stores and one told me £50 and another told me £80.

I'm wondering am I better to just sell it on eBay or at a store or hold off and send or to one of those phone recyclers.

Depends on what your goal is; I'm assuming you want to maximize your cash with minimum hassle?

It's a fine balance; selling it on ebay will probably give you the most cash but will open you to questions and emails from scammers, and if you're not a regular seller you'll have to wait I think 3 weeks to get the money out of paypal unless the buyer gives positive feedback before then. Selling it to a "recycler" will get you the cash almost immediately but less cash - they will grade and resell them in bulk and obviously have overheads and profit margins to cover.

Might be worth deciding a value you're happy with (ebay and recyclers) and putting an ad in the classifieds on here. :)

I sold my N95 (not 8GB version) for £95 a few months back to Mazuma.

I would sell it to the highest offer recycle company, you'll get the money whereas selling on ebay might go wrong for some reason.

yep i just sold two phones to mazuma for £199

less hassle, and they don't even care about box and accessories, etc

brilliant!

yeah, I got £130 (ish) for my N95 8GB, and another £50 for two other phones from Mazuma, easy as pie!
