Off to NY and Washington in a few weeks

Hopefully the sun will be shining :D

Taking along my Canon 350 and a couple of lenses

Should I put a filter on the lens and if so, which type - should it be UV or Polarising...............not quite sure

Thanks

Some people fit UV (or clear) as a protector for the end of their lens so that would be a consideration.

A decent circular polariser is another good idea; albeit you wouldn't want to leave it fitted all the time as you're not likely to need the effect for every shot.

there's a pretty even split in the photo world on the value of putting a filter on the lens purely for protection. some people swear by them to protect their investments, others point out that lens hood does the same thing without putting another slice of glass between subject and sensor. i don't bother personnally but it's down to you.
