Paul Casey has got to be in with a real shout as he's the form player in world golf at the moment. Gotta be doubts over Tiger and Phil at the moment which could open the door for a European winner at last.... Stenson, McIlroy or Westwood would be great.

not really worth starting a new thread, but some awesome golf from Gmac over last 4 days. I woke up at 0100, unintentionally, and watched the closing stages. First european winner in 40 years. Really great stuff :notworthy

I think that this will get lost in the World Cup hullabaloo. Not having Sky is a major barrier to seeing this of course, but yes, it's a hell of a performance for a British player to win the U.S.Open at Pebble Beach.

I stayed up to watch it, Johnson totally crumbled over 3 holes, and McDowell was just about steady enough to hold the lead.
Great to see an Irish player break the 40 year duck :thumbs:

It was laughable last night, the leader by quite a few shots crumbling in the 1st few holes. Ernie Els a joint leader for a while and Tiger dissapearing further and further down the table.

Well done McDowell excellent stuff!
