Folks
I've just been trying the new Apes movie on my Pioneer 525, and when I use the DTS option it simply freezes at chapter 3. Tried the usual 5.1 deafult and it plays fine.
Has anyone else had this problem?

Apparently, this is a known problem with a faulty batch of discs. I had the exact same problem in DTS (player freezes, image break down into blocks and finally manages to continue playing movie) on a rented DVD.
I talked to the video club owner who told me that they had received a letter saying that all 4 of their disks were part of a faulty batch that would be replaced shortly.
You should investigate an exchange wherever you bought the DVD.

Which region is your POTA?
My R1 version worked fine - a pity the film wasn't better though :)
Got mine today region 2. Watched it in DTS and had no problems.
I experienced a couple of sounds drops out on the R1 DTS track.
Using a Tosh/Pioneer amp.
