According to a report on www.r2-dvd.org Columbia will be releasing the first wave of Superbit titles on the 1st April 2002. They list 'Godzilla' as being one of the movies down for the treatment. Say what you like about the actual movie,( personally I think it's great, undemanding home cinema heaven ), but imagine that soundtrack in DTS. Yes Please!!

Jeebus - I thought I was the only one to like this film - a repurchase may be made

I quite like this too - very much the victim of an unfortunate "big movie" backlash. There have been far worse big summer movies released since.

Still - I don't think it justifies a re-purchase...

Won't be buying the Superbit release, but I too liked this movie and have watched it several times. Can't really see what people complained about. Sure the scripts no Shakespeare, but as an action style movie it ain't that bad.

Look at all the fans crawl out of the woodwork.
Actually add me to the list too. I've had no problem with this film. It was the first DVD i ever bought and i've still got it and watch it loads, nothing but popcorn fodder which sounds great in Dolby Digital. Now do i upgrade and get my first Superbit???

Godzilla in DTS:nuts:

I've never hidden my love for this film Robby - why not read my review of it over on DooYoo ;)

I watched this movie one afternoon on Sky - then they said they weren't showing it anymore after that screening. Next day I bought the DVD off someone on the forums for a tenner - bargain :)

I'm going, I'm going, I'm going deeper underground

It would be great to see Godzilla with a DTS soundtrack , the DD5.1 track is no slouch, but are the superbit discs really that good.

I thought the Superbit DTS soundtrack wasn't the real McCoy/ Don't know the exact term but I read it was a 'stripped down' dts track

If they could remove any taxis, and the main star from the movie, it would be far, far better......
