Wales National Airshow - Swansea Bay, 11 - 12 July 2009

I've not decided which day to go to Kemble yet. I've also got my tickets for RIAT and may pop along to Swansea so I'm set for the air shows that I can get to relatively easily :)

Anyone planning to go to RIAT make sure yo get your tickets this week as there are no tickets for sale on the gate this year.

What do you need lens wise to make the most of an airshow, I imagine something in the 300-400mm range?

I went to one in Swansea Bay yesterday, just to see how I'd get on as it was free. I thought the planes would be closer than they were so I took a full frame body and 400mm lens so this pic is true 400mm.

I should have taken a crop body on reflection. I am guessing that at a "proper" airshow the planes are a bit closer to the crowds.
