WOW!! This is really spooky!! Just literally finished watching this and was about to make a post telling people how much I enjoyed it. Excellent picture and sound and a good set of extras. Cool soundtrack too! Get it!
Also, we always hear people in the forum saying how good the classic Chow Yun-Fat movies like "The Killer" and "A Better tomorrow" are, but yet, nobody ever seems to talking about The Replacement Killers. Is it because it's new (relatively speaking) and so it's "uncool" to like it?
MVC have it in-store for £9.99 (and the other specials from Columbia Tristar), so no-waity-from-Play if you have an MVC nearby....
Haven't watched the new SE yet, but have tried ot a few snippets to check the sound and visuals. Certainly looks and sounds good, but no idea how it'll compare to the previous edition.
...plus it has a rather gorgeous Mira Sorvino in....
mmm! :D
yep - not bad movie too.

well to be honest i think it's probably because The Replacement Killers isn't exactly a classic like Chow Yun Fat's earlier films - which The Killer, Better Tomorrow etc are.
However, that doesnt mean that it's a bad film (in my eyes at least) in fact i found it to be a great hollywood action film and enjoyed it immensely. Sure, it's all style and no substance but sometimes thats what i like in a film :)

Replacement Killers is good but I've already got the 1st release which was a pretty decent disc & the film aint good enough to buy again even at £9.99.
Seems like a waste to re-release such an average title, cant quite see the point.
Does it have some major extras to warrent an upgrade ?.
here's what play have listed for it (im pretty sure that these are all correct as well as i was looking at the cover today :) )
'Making Of' Featurette
Featurette: 'Chow Yun-Fat Goes Hollywood'
Deleted Scenes
Alternative Ending
Audio Commentary from director Antoine Fuqua
Filmographies of director Antoine Fuqua and stars Chow Yun-Fat and Mira Sorvino
Interactive Menu
Scene Access

It is the same release as the R1 SE that is coming out next month - the original R1 was not as good as the R2 so obviously Columbia thought they might as well put out a version that will be identical in all main regions

Just watched it twice, once with the standard soundtrack and once with the directors commentary, the only one I've ever watched in its entirety. I love this film. Not sure whats on the original version but the SE rocks, nice transfer and genuinely interesting extras.
Anyone got suggestions to other commentaies worth watching? Most of the ones I have seem pretty dull...
