"...Is it a good film..."

...erm... critics' and consumers' opinions I've read vary from "dreadful bore" to "awsome" [sic] by way of anywhere in-between...

...the DVD is reviewed here (among other places):

It's not a terrible film, IMHO, but it's just not Argento on top form. The opening section on the train is very well done, even if there's some typical horror movie stupidity going on at the end.... But then, it all goes tits up. I just didn't find the film grabbed me in the way that, say, Deep Red or Tenebrae did. There are far too many plot holes - more so than usual! The violence is pretty extreme, and I'm was most suprised to see this is the uncut version. Heads explode, people get stabbed with musical instruments and a still twitching head is cut off. And that's not the half of it! Still, you may love the film....

I would recommend this as a buy, however. The second disk which I believe was put together by Argento expert and good guy Alan Jones is superb, and gives you a good glimpse into the mind of one of Horror's most controversial directors. The sound and picture are good on both disks, too.
