Hi there,

I've been gagging to get my hands on a copy of this film for sometime now but held off as there was an upcoming version that 'Madman' in Australia have just released.

However none of the sites that I've been to have had any details on the R4 version. I was wondering if anyone here has seen all of the releases and could advise which one I should spend my money on.

I've only seen the R2 but it was a very good DVD.

I e-mailed Madman to ask about the aspect ratio and whether it was anamorphic. Apparantly they expected it to be 16:9 but its just letterboxed. They also said they didn't master the disc so the transfer sounds identical to the UK release.

I have heard conflicting reports about the AR of the R1- Rewind says its 4:3 pan&scan, but I think there was a thread on the forums saying it was actually the same letterboxed picture, but obviously NTSC.

I don't know about the extras but I imagine they will similar if not the same so I would say get either the R2 or 4.

There's a review at http://www.dvdbits.com/reviews.asp?id=916

No mention of whether it is anamorphic so it's probably best to assume that it is not.

It looks like the audio summary was copied from another review because it surely does not have a DTS soundtrack ;)

Cheers.
