Have Play stopped processing orders on weekends?

I noticed their name/logo has changed, and they've taken almost 3 or 4 days to process the last two orders I've placed with them :(

They changed their name a couple of months ago now. My Beverley Hills Cop boxset is still showing as processing even though it was delivered on Friday.

Seems to be the case. Orders they claim despatched on a Friday used to get to me on Monday. Now arrive on the Wednesday with orders despatched on Monday. Seems they leave them over the weekend and only pass to the Royal Mail on Monday morning

Looks like I need to find a new R1 supplier. I've always been impressed with Play's service and delivery times in the past (typically 1-2 days), but if they're slowing down, I may as well use one of the others :(

Maybe I should complain to Play because they sent me my M*A*S*H season 1 boxset three weeks before release date? I was hoping it would arrive within two days of the appointed release date. It's just not good enough!

I'm with you cervaro, play have been very good to me in the past.

I don't like change, so hey will still be getting my business.

it's quite possible that royal mail have changed their pickup schedule from play/jersey.

personally i can't understand the massive rush to get DVD and other things
i'm willing to wait a day or two extra and save a couple of quid unless it's something i need in a major hurry (such as a replacement computer part

Admittedly there's nothing much Play can do about Royal Mail's delivery schedule or times, but when an order sits in the "processing" state for 4-5 days, I have to wonder if they're ever going to get round to actually sending it!

The reason I pay a pound or two extra for an order from Play instead of one of the cheaper e-tailers is because they've been extremely reliable (and quick!) at getting the order processed and sent for items they claim to have in stock. Now it looks like they're not doing that anymore, making them no better (or worse) than the others - except that they're still charging slightly more...

So far I've had two consecutive, extremely slow processing orders from them. If it happens again, I'm more than prepared to take my money elsewhere for prompt processing. It's all about levels of service, IMO. And yes, I am impatient :D

I...don't....like....queues....either.....

So who are your cheaper alternatives to Play?

It is possible that it is not Play's fault......just blame the Royal Mail (Consignia)

Well, my package arrived from Play finally (posted Monday night). That's about 36 hours in transit, which is pretty damn quick. As someone said, maybe Royal Mail doesn't pick up on weekends or something and it's not Play's fault, but it certainly looks that way when they leave an order in "processing".

Personally, I'm a huge fan of Royal Mail. Where I originally come from, sending mail to someone in the same town or city will take at least 7 to 10 days, if it isn't stolen first

Oh well. New DVD = me happy bunny :D
