ok this is the cheapest i have found this phone

http://www.plemix.com/phone-htc-touch_pro2-phone

This is an iphone killer for lovers of windows mobile. There is nothing like it.

I'm still using my tytn 2 and lusting after this one!

It comes to £494.67 plus about £20 shipping.

Yes I know the payg phone is cheaper and a new iphone is expected out in July, but is it windows mobile??

This is about the only thing on windows mobile that even comes close!

The seller plemix is an unknown. Ive not used them, and they seem to be outside of uk. Thats about the only negative. The other guys id use are expanysis who seem to have some deal on

Anyone who has bought this phone, are you a happy chappy?

I would rather have the Nokia N97...

Yeah does look nice. Re the weight - Net Weight 175 g I think is more like it! :p

I just got an XDA Guide (HTC Touch Cruise 2 I think) which is leaps and bounds better than the old XDA Atmos (HTC S730) I used to have - I can see HTC bringing out many iPhone killers now - just gotta get the battery time better!

I've got the TyTn II (Vodafone 1615) and I'm waiting to renew or change provider, but I'm just waiting for these new HTC phones to arrive with our operators. I think I would like to stick with the windows mobile, as I've found it nice to use.

I'm trying to resist buying one until I have held it in my hand. I have a HTC Diamond with a custom Rhodium ROM but it has a bit of a lag in the TF3D which would be nice to get rid of. But I love the size (or lack of it) of the Diamond and it may be too much of a jump to the TP2 as it weighs nearly twice as much

What about the Xperia x2 (http://www.coolsmartphone.com/news4761.html)!

8MP camera with flash
Windows Mobile
Keyboard

Yum!

Having an Xperia X1 I don't think I will going windows mobile ever again...
If anything I would rather have an iphone...

But for me I think it will have to be Nokia...

X2 isn't going to be out for ages.

HTC did a great job with the HD, the Pro2 just adds a bit more on top of that.

Agreed. The X1 is supposedly one of the more powerful Windows phones and it still felt sluggish when I recently tried it out. Having used crappy HTC phones for the past 5 or 6 years, I recently got a Nokia E71. Can't believe the difference - I'm now in mobile heaven! :)

If you absolutely must have a touch screen, then the choice is simple: get an iPhone.

Very little wrong with the HD. It's the most useable, durable and tidy phone I've ever had.

It's a fine alternative to the iPhone for the business end.

completely agree with ROne. the HD is spot on.

friend at work has an X1, likes it but has disabled the Panels interface - very sluggish with it. just plain vanilla WinMobile after that - and not great.

The latest TouchFlo3D on the HD & now the updated version on the Pro2 even more so is a really nice interface by comparison and plenty fast enough.

I got mine on Friday on Vodafone (http://www.thedvdforums.com/affiliatelink.php?localaffiliateid=389)

It wasn't on their site but I rang the business number and they have them in. Free phone on a £30pm 500 minutes, 250 texts, unlimited internet and landline calls over 18 months.

It is a lot faster than any other HTC phone that I have had, and the screen is excellent! No real problems so far, apart from the awful vodafone pink branding, but that should be sorted soon

Was it the Touch HD or the Touch HD Pro 2 that you got?

It was the Touch Pro 2, ie the one with the keyboard. http://www.htc.com/uk/product/touchpro2/overview.html

It's quite a big lump in comparison with the HTC Diamond that I had before, but only when it is in the pocket.

It is far more usable than the Diamond and the screen is superb! but I think I said that already

That's me going for it tomorrow then, I found that I've used my Tytn Ii as a mini laptop, so it'll be nice to have a sleeker, faster version.

Don't forget you will need a microSD card to go with it, you don't get may extras in the box. Although Worldcard mobile is preinstalled

Phoned today and as existing customer out of contract, they offered me the phone for free 750 mins, 500 texts, email and internet for £35 on 24 months contract.

I haven't gone for it, as I was hoping to do better than that

How did you manage to get your deal stunno, are you an existing customer?

No I was on Tmobile, never been with Vodafone before

Have a look on their website. They have the phone free with 3 months free rental on a £30 contract over 24 months.

As I was just in the 7 day cooling off period, I rang to complain and after they had pointed out that I had misread the page, they offered to change me to the 24 month deal, give me the free 3 months and knock a fiver off the rental.

So now I'm on 24 months (3 months free) £25 +vat pm 500 minutes, 250 texts unlimited landline and internet.

Cheers stunno

I phoned for the fifth time :) and had a polite moan that new customers can get a better deal that a old faithful customer, blahh, blah, blah. Not based on you, I mean based on the website offer!

I couldn't shake off the 24 month contract, but I'm okay with that, I've had the TyTnII for 19 months and still think it's great (the Pro 2 is just even more great!).

I ended up with the phone free for £25 inc VAT 600 mins, unlimted texts and the internet, so pretty pleased with persisting now, which is £10 cheaper than my existing contract and with much better minutes and texts.

my credit seems to have taken a hit at the moment and i dont think id get one. If my mum was to order one online from vodafone business through quid co to get the £90 how would i go about getting my number put on it from 3? is it easy?
