The latest film by Jan Svirak is coming to DVD subtitled in English, German, French, and in Finnish(!). For further information cf. http://www.dvdexpress.cz/express/newdetail.asp?ID=1313&kateg=Vyhledavani&string=.

As to the already available titles, I have watched
Cesta z města (Out of the City) and Rebelové (Rebels), but didn't like them. The former tells about an expert programmer and his wild summer on the countryside. The plot is confusing and the film has a touch being made by amateurs. The latter is a typical light teen flick.

Musíme si pomáhat (Divided We Fall) is IMHO excellent. It is directed by Jan Hrebejk (Pelisky - Cosy Dens). The film tells about survival during Nazi occupation. The DVD is subtitled in English, video is non-anamorphic letterbox (14:9). The picture is quit soft most of the time but acceptable. I found the film superior to Benigni's La Vita Č Bella. Strongly recommended!
