Memorex have always been fine for but as the OP states, it is the dye that is important not the brand. I have found that Memorex uses Ritek D01. Now some people hate Ritek DL's but I never had any problems and my first ever burn from years ago still plays fine.

If 25 is took much of a gamble. Memorex also does a 10 pack too at 89p per disc.
