View Full Version : Star Cops on DVD???
Have been watching some old video's of me mate. One series that has really caught my interest is an old BBC series called Star Cops.
This was released on video in 1991. Anyone heard any rumours about it coming out on DVD as the videos are getting pretty ropey now.
Haven't heard anything, but if your mate has got original tapes have a look on ebay to see how much they're going for! I've seen them go for £40 per tape in the past!

What was this series about... was it the one with the cop in the colony on Mars that started about the same time as Red Dwarf. If it wasn't, can anyone remember the name of it.

Yes that's probly the one you're thinking of, though he was based on the moon and in earth orbit. The final episode spoke about them setting up an office on Mars but a second series never came about.
It was the series where the lead character had a pocket talking computer, "Box".

Correct Deaks it is set on the moon. they were going to do series 2 set on Mars but the BBC didnt renew it due to the luke warm responce the public gave it.
On a side note the main character checked his bank balance in an episode and he had been paid in Euro Dollars €. Nice to see something in a series from 1987 actually coming to pass....

And an argumentative Aussie sheila called Kinsey who looked for all the world like she was dropping in from the Flying Doctors, a kind of Rebecca-Gibney-in-space.
:)
Erm, did the Justin Hayward theme tune ever get a release anywhere? (sorry, I know that's REALLY daggy, but he seems pretty good with sci-fi tunes...)
:)
Of course, any series with the hand of Chris Boucher (Dr Who Robots of Death, Blake's Seven) in it somewhere is going to work well for me. As for predicting the future...

Yes "It Won't Be Easy" was available on 7" and 12" and I've got both.

I've also got the 12" version (backed with the "lounge" music they used when travelling accross the moon etc)
and I also have it on CD - it was released on one of those BBC compilations.
(The latter would be a lot easier to convert to MP3, if that's what those turning wheels were indicating :D )
