Anybody know whether the upcoming R2 releases of Branded To Kill & Tokyo Drifter R2 will be anamorphic?

yep they are...very nice too.

I should have reviews of the Criterion R0 versions - non-anamorphic, but with Suzuki interview footage - up by Wednesday.

My reviews are now up...I'm certainly looking forward to your reviews though Narshty as it will be interesting to hear a no doubt more experienced take on Sezuki's films (as despite being a Japanese film fan, these were my first Suzuki's :D )

I've just watched them before and have watched the 30-minutes of so of Suzuki interview footage on the Criterion discs! :D
