It's not as good as the first two films but it's still top class kung fu stuff. The set pieces as always are first class ,although the end lion head fight whilst being a masterpiece of fighting chorography ain't half confusing.

Avoid !.
Its nothing like the 1st two films, there's not one fight scene which you'll remember afterwards, there's too much Chinese humour which just isnt funny or gets lost in the subtitles.
If you like watching short men in giant dragon masks headbutting each other for 50 minutes in a clumsy fashion then you may enjoy it.

I love OUATIC 1 & 2, but 3 is about as true to the original OUATIC as Robocop 3 is to Robocop.:D

I've got a copy going on my trade thread if your interested.
Im sure I've probably sold it to you with my opinion anyway.:D

Ok it's not as good as 1 & 2 but there are many stand out moments (The bit where he tries to get the camera but gets sidetracked is a classic) My only gripe is that they didn't end it properly (I would have liked to see the love birds get married) I'm are right in saying that 4 & 5 are not even worth loking at because all the actors have changed?!

I think the 3rd film is definately funnier that the first two... if you can understand the language. But then again, kung fu action is more important than humur in a martial arts film. Nevertheless, it's still worth getting to complete the series!

I'm just about to sit down and watch it now; the joys of being a student :D I like watching the dragon dances; some of the scenes in Dreadnought are amazing.

I don't know what 4 and 5 are like although I managed to get the Universe DVD of 5 for $12 so I'm going to be watching that soon-ish. I know there is a review for 4 over at DragonsDen.

Well to be honest, Im giving some negatives to balance out the positives.
What I said might be harsh, but still valid & you cant help but feel serious disapointment when compared to the first 2 in the series.
It does seem strange that Wong is more than happy to pork his own cousin, but still.
Maybe they should make a Once Upon a Time On Jerry Springer. :D

my review for Part 3 is written - just waiting for it to be uploaded. I gave it 4 out of 5 - the same score as part 4, however the action in part 4 is superior, While the overall feel, direction and cinematography of part 3 are better than 4.

Part 5 review on the way! - that will complete the set.

really? without spoilers what about the slippery floor fight? and numerous occasions of Hung Yan Yan displaying his kicking prowess.
I admit, the elements of Martial Arts from the first two have been replaced by the Lion Dance theme, and as such, the action is less enthralling - especially if u don't like Lion Dancing.

Have u watched it with the commentary yet Jim?

Not yet, I've given the film 2 viewings so far. Next time I'll watch with the commentary although I've heard that Bay makes some pretty big mistakes in this one.
The slippery floor fight is the only stand out fight to be honest, but even that (and all the other fights) take place during mass confusion and your just waiting for things to settle down for some nice 1 on 1 arse kicking !.
The darker theme from the 1st two films is deeply missed, theres nothing which comes close to the dramatic fight with Ironrobe or Jet Li taking on Donnie Yen.
OUATIC 3 would probably get a 6/10 from me, 7/10 at a push.
Maybe 8/10 if HKL give me the disc free for a online review & I didnt have to pay for it. ;) :D

You have

OUATIC 1, 2 and 3 all staring Jet LI
Then OUATIC 4 and 5 without LI
Then OUATIC 6 AKA OUATICAA staring Jet Li

I did wonder what you meant when saying 'I have the other 3'

:D
