They will be in grade a condition, have the AC adaptor but won't be in the original box. I'm not 100% on the backup cd but I will find out for you.

I ordered one along with some earphones.. earphones turned up with not sign of the webbook.. I emailed bigpockets and received a reply stating there is a problem with dispatch and they can not give me a date that it it be sent out.. :( very disappointing.

Hi I cant complain about Big Pockets themselves as I have been kept up to date all the way but the length of time for dispatch is getting beyond a joke considering they are stil showing as for sale and in stock. I really dont want to cancel as I think it will be a cool web book but if I dont get it this week I will cancel.

It will be dispatched, 75% of the orders did get sent but I know that doesn't help you at all. I am really sorry for the delay and inconvenience caused by this.

The fact that your still showing them as in stock is the most annoying part. I ordered on 06/06/09 and its now 22/06/09 and still nothing, I know I have been informed every step of the way but it does not take away the fact I am still waiting when delivery should have been 3-4 days MAX!!!

I agree it's not good at all but we are showing stock with 3 - 4 working days dispatch as the stock will be here on Wednesday to send out so there is no pointing removing them from sale.

I guess its your definition of "in stock" that differs from ours. To me it means "we have it here, in stock, ready to go". Wouldn't something like "Awaiting delivery from supplier" be more accurate?

It did state that at 1st but got changed when the 1st batch of stock arrived. I will change it now.

Yes they will be in tomorrow, we have around 60 in free stock with 100 arriving every week from tomorrow.

With 2 sets of couriers being involved I wouldn't like to promise anything but the stock has left Elonex and is due in early morning so there shouldn't be any further delays.

Anyone whos order is over 4 working days old is welcome to a refund of delivery, please e-mail me (oliver@bigpockets.co.uk) and I will arrange the credit.

Ironically, all this thread bumping due to dissatisfaction has tempted me to buy one...

What's the video playback like on these? I'll be using it to play tv shows on my way to work. I presume there's no DVD drive, but I can transfer stuff from a box set to memory card or USB stick to watch it.

From the spec of it, it should play back video fine and yes you can easily transfer stuff to the hard drive or play them back from a memory stick.

Hopefully they will be out today - been waiting over 10 days for mine - siad they were in stock ready for dispatch when i ordered so thought would have got it middle of last week. Tried to chase it up and not very good response - why no phone number! cause of majority of frustration is that you can't speak to anyone! Also, posted monday to check on status of the delivery, and again yesterday and STILL havent had a reply - not very good customer service! Will be claiming postage for the inconvenience and lack of communication offerd by BigPockets - deffinatly not reccommending to others...

I was contemplating one of these, however it seems to be a complete joke. How a company can state from "the stock has left Elonex and is due in early morning" to "To all who are still waiting for the Elonex laptops - we have been let down again by our supplier who have not delivered as promised today." is completely beyond me..... As above, what a joke.

Congrats to BP for loosing an order.

Got to be honest I was very much like Yaffle that I had this brought to my attention due to the thread replies but now after the latest setback for all those guys already with orders I think I will give it a miss.
I'm in no real rush so will wait for something better to come along than be messed about.

The only thing they did wrong was claiming that the laptops were 'in stock', which most people would understand to mean 'sitting on a shelf in Bigpocket's own warehouse ready to send out' when they clearly weren't. Hopefully Bigpockets have learned something from this situation, and won't claim that stuff is in stock when actually it isn't.

yaffle.. this isnt necessary the best place to update customers.. Big Pockets failed to notifiy me directly by email without having to post on here and they are slooowww at responding to the ticket enquiry system they use on their site.

If I were them, at the first sign of their supplier being dodgy I'd have come on here said "look sorry guys, we've been let down, we'll get back to you when we actually have them" instead of this hokey kokey we have them / we don't have them/ they're on their way / they're not on their way. All the "you'll have them by friday at the latest" is pointless and just winds people up. If you don't know, just say you don't know!

We deal with the retailer not the supplier.

Therefore I am not stating they will definitely be in stock until I know we phyically have them in place, ready to ship.

I have also removed these from sale until this stock issue is resolved.

Hey DOGBREATH. A bit late is an understatement I order this on the 6th and its still not here. And who cares about the price its the principle of the delay and getting told it will be in constantly thats more the problem. I dont want my money back I want the web book but preferably this year.

I'm guessing you must be too young to remember the good old days of mail order, where can take 28 days was the norm and they meant it, and that was for physical goods actually in the warehouse. :lol:

To be fair to bigpockets they are hardly the worst supplier and generally they are pretty good at dealing with tickets, and it's a long way from the "biggest farse" or perhaps you've never had the wrong item sent to you by Ebuyer?

Well actually your wrong about being too young to remember mail order. But their delivery time stated 3-4 days not 20 days (up to now anyway). And no I have not had a problem with Ebuyer and not had any problems with BP before either. Its just the messing about get told day after day they will be dispatched the next day thats annoying. I have been getting emails daily from one of BP's employees who has kept me up to date every step of the way and I know its not there fault but my understanding is if goods are stated in stock when your order is placed they actually have the goods to sell not awaiting stock as it now seems.

Any retailer can be caught out by a supplier letting them down - Big pockets are braver than most because they put themselves on a public forum.

**** happens - cancel and get a refund or wait for it to arrive. that is all people can do.

Does anyone know if this is definate for Monday as i have been waiting since monday for a response to my request for an update - good at customer service they aint! cant see how it can take from monday to today to respond, and i agree this IS NOT the best place to let everyone know - i supplied my phone number numerous times and never received a call although i did ask that they do so ?!!?!?!??

Its not definate for monday either. I have a girl who replies everytime I contact BP she has kept me updated every step of the way not that this stops me being frustrated at not getting the web book but yes I understand your frustration as well. :(
