The film is from the 70's,and is about 2 cops in New York who steal some bonds whilst a tic a tape parade is happening,and then try to sell them to the mob.The mob meets them in Central Park to exchange the cash and tries to double cross them,leading to a chase through the park.They manage to get away.Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Yes, it's Aram Avakian's <b>Cops and Robbers</b>, one of several mid-seventies movies about the less principled members of the police force. that came in the wake of Popeye Doyle and Serpico. Good performances from Joe Bologna and Cliff Gorman and pacy direction from Avakian, who made the very amusing Charles Grodin vehicle <b>11 Harrowhouse</b>. The most notable aspect is that it's written by the great Donald Westlake AKA Richard Stark.

<b>Law And Disorder</b> is another, along with the vaguely classic <b>Freebie and the Bean</b> and the interesting Peter Hyams flick <b>Busting</b>.

While we’re on the subject, Westlake’s The Hot Rock adapted by William Goldman and directed by Bullitt’s Peter Yates also needs to be released. A great caper movie with fantastic performances from Robert Redford and George Segal (possibly the most underrated actor of his generation - witness his stunning role in The Terminal Man) puts this alongside Taking of Pelham 123 and the aformentioned Freebie & the Bean and 11 Harrowhouse in terms of quality.
