A lot of people here are saying how great the Marantz 5200 is, but would there be any descernible benefit paying more for an amp that can handle things like Dolby Pro-Logic 2, THX Ultra, THX Surround EX, Dolby Digital, DTS ES - Discrete 6.1, Matrix 6.1, Neo: 6? ie for future proofing, overall sound quality etc, or would something like this ideally need a major amount of money to be spent on at least 3 rears etc....
At present I have a Yamaha A5 an I'm considering a possible upgrade (once I do my Tosh2109 dvd player)...I like Yamaha but their new amps look "ugly", especially with that dropped port panel at the front....apart from the gold colour (prefer silver to black if possible), the Denons and Marantz's look better........
