Sony HTK-475

Any views on this home kit?

Can be viewed at Argo cat no. 512/2000. Priced at 399.99 are there better systems out there for the same. It's in my price range and is my first system so opinions appreciated.

Take a look at the Home Cinema Heaven banner often displayed on these pages. In th AV systems they have the Yamaha HTiB40 for £399 which having heard the two systems closeby is certainly worth considering.

I opted for the Yamaha kit.

Either way if you buy the components separately first amp then speaker/sub pack you can get it for a bit less around £350.

Make sure to go and have a listen to whichever system looks good on paper and make sure that it has a full (complete) sound not just tweeter and bass.

I picked up that same sony system myself, Just have to play it during the day so not to wake up everyone :( , paided £225 for the kit :) Not seen the Yamaha kit but if your paying £399 I'd have to see the kit setup side by side. Whatever you get hope your happy with it, good luck,

Do Not pay Argos' asking price of £399.99!! You can get it much cheaper from places like Empire Direct.

I got this kit from the Sony Centre for £329. (new store opening deal)

I think it's a cracking bit of kit - though I hear that you could probably get better speakers elsewhere. But hey, you can upgrade the speakers later and given the size of my lounge I doubt that i'd really appreciate the difference with a more expensive set-up.
