Also details of their future plans - 26 songs released, one per fortnight for a year.

Hope the other 25 tracks are better than that one.
What's gone wrong they used to be one of the best singles bands around.

They got old.

That is probably even worse than Nu-Clear Sounds. What the hell were they thinking? Talk about failed bandwagon-jumping.
Gotta say I'm liking it :)
Me too, last album was alright too

The majority of their singles to date have either been written or co-written by Tim and this is one of Mark's songs which are mainly confined to b-sides. I'm hoping it's just a case of them not wanting to give away the best stuff for free.
Interesting to see how this will all turn out, no doubt the fanbase will buy them but I'm wondering if with the quickfire releases a lot is going to get lost in the mix.

Best days are certainly behind them, but their 1977 gig at the Astoria last year was one of my highlight gigs of the year. Absolutely brilliant.

Well it worked out alright when the Wedding Present did 12 singles in a year, ages ago.

Yeah but in fairness this is more than double the number of releases in the same time.

I haven't liked any of their albums in ages, but really liking this freebie.
But then, I think Nu-Clear Sounds is their 3rd best album, so maybe I'm in the minority on both counts. :suspect:

Tickets for an A-Z tour on sale from today.
Some pretty small venues amongst the dates

Some small dates?! The venue for one of their Scottish dates is a bar/restaurant in the town I was born in, and it's pokey as hell!
EDIT: Once you've added in booking fees and postage, tickets work out at over £20?! What a ******* joke - playing in a pub and charging big venue prices...

The last tour date is already sold out, it had a capacity of about 60 people :)
Closest they're coming to me is on the Isle Of Wight, which is too much of a faff. Besides I don't think they'd top the Astoria gig I previously mentioned, so might just leave it at that :)

I wonder what material they will playing at these gigs? Only the new stuff they are releasing now, or stuff from back when they were actually really good?

Both I'd imagine.
