Maybe its just me but I dunno why some sites have sales in this format.

Im sure theres some decent stuff in there but I can't be bothered to browse 500+ games, 200+ DVDs, 200+ CDs etc from browsing briefly alot of the games aren't even at competitive prices and the DVDs are mixed with some real crap.

I guess I'll just follow the thread and see if any members spot some good deals. :|

I thought it was pretty good. Dunno if it'll look any better on BD though

I enjoyed The Science of Sleep a lot but the basic premise of this one doesn't appeal to me. May consider renting it at some point though.

I should think TSOS would look great in HD.

Socom: Confrontation (Game only) £8.99 (http://www.thedvdforums.com/affiliatelink.php?localaffiliateid=8&url=http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B001QXDDIQ/thedvdforums-21)

Seems a very good price but not the type I would play.

Its my sort of game although I've read a glut of complaints from both professional reviewers and forum members ranging from heavy lag to problems finding games, poor graphics/poor framerates and the thread over on the gaming forum wasn't full of praise for the game.

Its less of a bargain when you look at the postage rates - £8.99 + £4.99 P&P - sold by expressgames. :)

I got an e-mail from Amazon about 70% off TV DVDs with the likes of Band of Brothers going for under £10; the first three doctor who boxsets for about £16 each; BSG 1-4 £27.98.

I enjoyed the Science of Sleep a lot too, so expected Be Kind Rewind to be quite good. It wasn't.

I didn't think it was too bad myself, dragged a bit in the middle, but a nice little film (mind you, I'm easily pleased by films in the main)

The bits where they're actually remaking films are quite funny and fairly well done but the film as a whole falls apart.

If EIV had any wit, then they'd release this one on VHS.

Yeah, I thought that. You might as well just watch those bits. The film itself is terrible.

I enjoyed the Science of Sleep a lot too, so expected Be Kind Rewind to be quite good. It wasn't.

Gondry's films seem to get worse with each one - he seemed to reach a peak with Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and it's been downhill since then!

Eternal Sunshine is one of my all time favourite films, but I found The Science of Sleep to be mediocre, and Be Kind Rewind was just awful. Shame really. Human Nature was enjoyable, although nowhere near as good as Eternal Sunshine.

Actually, looking at these films, it seems that anything he's done with Charlie Kaufman has been good, everything else has been crap. I live in hope though, although can't see him making something as good as Eternal Sunshine again.

I guess it's his Rushmore! Although at least all of Wes Anderson's films are enjoyable.

Not sure if its in the sale but.....

Blade Runner: The Final Cut (5-Disc Ultimate Collectors' Edition Tin) [DVD] [1982] @ £14.96 (http://www.thedvdforums.com/affiliatelink.php?localaffiliateid=8&url=http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000VPP84W/thedvdforums-21)

I highly recommend this pack, got mine today from Amazon and was well impressed with the packaging and little extras included in the boxset i.e. hologram thing, letter from Ridley Scott, Artcards, 16 page booklet.

At long last an Ultimate edition which really feels like an Ultimate edition rather than a crappy cash in.

Well......not everyone has Blue ray (although I do myself) and im presuming the Blue Ray version isn't £15 is it?

You could post comments like that in every thread regarding every bargain DVD posted on this site if thats how you feel but I know there are still people who'll appreciate that deal and pick it up because Blue Ray is simply too expensive at the moment for alot of us to buy every boxset and film they want where as with DVD the prices are bordering on crazy. Added to that I guess you could say im very selective about the type of film I purchase on Blue Ray. :)

The price isn't bad, thing about that product though Steven is its only the Final Cut. The edition which I got on DVD was jam packed with different editions of the film including a very different workprint and perhaps the most complete set of extras I've seen in a film package to date. Also loved the artcards, tin packaging, hologram film still thing, letter and booklet.

If they were doing a 5 BD pack for £15 or even a tad more then yeah I'd buy it.

Anyway I was chuffed with it and thats all that really matters at the end of the day.

Yeah and you also need to be from the US or be into importing, saw they got a rather nifty looking collectors edition in a metal briefcase like the one from the film - which is right up my street. They also got the 5 BD version where as the UK got the 1 disc edition which has the same introduction aas the 5 disc edition by Ridley Scott, he still refers to people enjoying all 4 versions of the film when on the UK BD there is only the one version.
