Hi:D
As the proud owner of the Panasonic AE-100 LCD Projector, I looking to get the most from it picture wise.
A nice DVD player that outputs Progresive scan in NTSC & PAL would be the icing on the cake.
Can anyone offer there thoughts:
Model ?
Price ?
Dealer/Website ?
more info on some of the other HC websites really..., avforums.com, avsforum.com also.

Checked this yesterday, seems it will £199.99, they are going to give me a ring when they come in :)
Is it me, or are most of the players(apart from the Denons of this world) all Far East efforts ?
think the Denon 2800 is also made in Taiwan...
not sure about the Arcam or the Philips.
got a Denon 2800 myself and very happy with it..
Panasonic projector to be ordered very soon!

With my budget, you may need to adjust that price by 2 decimal places:D

Denon are a subsidiary of Denon Japan / Nippon Columbia so it's also a Far East flavour
Arcam are British (Cambridge based)
Philips are Dutch, you may have heard of a Philips subsidiary company called Marantz :D
kaneda...
I was actually talking about where the players were
made, not where the originating company comes from...,
not that important these days.
Denon maybe Japan based, but the 2800 is made in China (not Taiwan as I originally stated).
this has actually been a topic of conversation on the dvd player thread with regard to cost cutting and quality control.
I know Philips are dutch by the way.
Sorry didn't mean to sound condescending, went through the this company is related to this company phase a while back to see what lack of choice there really is in the world
agreed... its ironic really that (for example) a "decent" make selling for £500+ could be made in the same factory as a cheap sub £150 machine.. and you would never know but think that the expensive maked model would be "better".
the badge on the front doesnt mean much these days...
look at Philips TVs... they now use Panasonic tubes on some models now not their own... and are completely different from when they were reviewed.

I didn't really intend to spark a debate of this sort...
I having nothing against the Far East players, but I tend to try and steer clear of the ones that have 2 mic sockets on the front..
Maybe that's just me
