There seems to be 2 R1's available, an American and a Canadian release (different covers) - does anyone know if they have the same contents/features, which one is best etc

US one at Amazon: Murder by Death (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00005RDRO/thedvdforums-20)
CA one at DVDBO: Murder by Death (http://www.dvdboxoffice.com/description.asp?pid=90012632&id=88A3032B-42B8-433F-B2FC-B2ED408DE90B&browser=other&country=cad)

Any help would be appreciated, cheers.

I think dvdboxoffice have simply not bothered putting the correct image up. My Murder by Death came from ABSound, also Canadian, and is the cover shown on Amazon.

I was also looking at this last night and nearly ordered it from DVDBO until I noticed the different cover. I checked in DVD Profiler and there's only one version listed so I'm quite sure it's OK. Anyway, what's the film like? Is it as funny as the comments on Amazon suggest?

disappointed with this release.the character of sherlock holmes was originally in this movie and indeed some american tv prints restored the footage..the dvd didnt even include it as a deleted scene..

A shame yes, but it's only an alternate ending. It was probably blocked by the Conan Doyle estate as they've been restricting who can use the Holmes likenesses for years now.

Cheers for the info guys, if they are both the same, looks like I'll be getting the cheaper Canadian one :)
